Thanks for visiting!
I started developing black and white film in seventh grade in the basement with my dad. I did black and white for a long time, then got into shooting the city at night. Night scenes and time exposures. Film was my life. But on my 30th birthday someone broke into my place and stole my photography gear. At the same time, life got busy, and I dropped out of photography for nearly 25 years. I bought my first digital camera in 2015, in anticipation of my retirement in 2016.
Photography was my first passion in life. I've never taken a formal class. What I learned, I learned from my dad or taught myself. I take pictures because I enjoy it. I photograph things that catch my eye and jump out in front of me. I'm drawn to shadows and light. I was a policeman for 30 years, and i've seen the worst of the worst that man has to offer. But through the viewfinder of the camera, I see beauty. That's what drives me. It's therapeutic.
Many friends have encouraged me to continue pursuing my passion, and to make it available to a larger audience. That's what this website is for. Hopefully you will enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.
